Changsha China shelter director & rescuer
Suki Su - Animal Hope & Wellness China
The Animal Hope and Wellness China Shelter is located in Changsha, China. The shelter, which was once used for pig housing and then abandoned, is now converted into housing for the animals liberated from The Dog and Cat Meat Trade by our Founder and also by Suki Su, our China Director.
In the summer of 2016, Suki Su, a Changsha native, reached out to our Foundation when she heard news of what we were doing throughout the The Dog and Cat Meat Trade and kindly offered up her family home and property as an extension of our Foundation.
Quickly, she was immersed into the rescue world and it became her duty to care for all of the animals in her home. With the help of her friends and family, Suki has cared for thousands of animals - helping them to heal from their physical and emotional wounds; guiding them to trust in people again.
Suki Su is a real life angel who is devoted and dedicated to making China a better place for all animals.
Visit the AHW website to learn more about the wonderful work Suki Su is doing in her native town of Changsha, China.

Changchun/Baicheng - NorthEastern China
Liang xiaodan - Plush Bears shelter
Liang xiaodan aka Plush Bear is a young Chinese activist that has been involved in helping rescue an array of different animals, prominently in the Changchun and Baicheng areas of northeastern China.
Over the last 12 months, she has expanded considerably, rescuing an especially large amount of dogs from local dog butchers, animal markets, and large-scale slaughterhouses. We remove animals from danger and provide them with much-needed love, veterinary care, and sanctuary.
In order to achieve this Plush has been developing her own shelter and although this comes with huge responsibility, she has clearly demonstrated the desire, volition, and commitment to make this a success and give animals saved from slaughter, the second chance of life.
Plush Bears' work is driven by a passionate and dedicated love for all animals. We never discriminate on the basis of health, age, or breed and promote compassion and love for all beings.
Rescue is the first step of a long journey, aftercare and rehabilitation are paramount.
